Since its launch nearly a year ago, Stadia has only been officially available on Android, the Web and Chromecast. Google has apparently taken the same path as Amazon, as the search giant has started working to add official support for Stadia for the iPhone and iPad using the Safari browser.

Considering that Stadia has an official web application, it may seem surprising that iOS did not have official support in this way. Indeed, at the time of Stadia's launch, the version of Safari provided with iOS 13 did not have the web functionalities necessary for Stadia to function properly. With iOS 14, this has changed. This news comes just after Apple has restored the third-party application Stadium (which allows Stadia to be played on iPhone/iPad) on the App Store.

The YouTube channel Gem Stadia first found evidence of Google's work in supporting Stadia through Safari in the source code of Stadia's web application. "New! Play on this browser - the game is still under development. As we test performance and add features, your feedback will help us improve Stadia's experience for everyone," reads the description.

Google's official support of Stadia on the iPhone and iPad using Safari is likely to lead to the closure of Stadium, which currently mimics Google Chrome as a user agent.

However, Stadium is your friend until this happens. The efforts of Zach Knox, the developer of Stadium, are to be commended, whose contribution has given iPhone users renewed hope of accessing Stadia.

A launch in the coming weeks

As mentioned before, the fact that Google decided to prioritize the development of Stadia's web application for the Safari browser via WebKit is no surprise, especially since this is exactly what Amazon has done with its cloud gaming service, Luna, which is now available for preview.

Having said that, don't forget that Google has not provided a schedule as to when it plans to offer official support for Stadia by Safari. Actually, the company has not even officially confirmed its plans yet. If Google does not encounter major obstacles in the implementation, we can expect this to happen in the coming weeks.

    The best iOS applications

In addition to applications such as the PlayStation App with voice chat or Muviz Edge, a music viewer, or the many game sites available and compatible with iOS such as Betiton or Pokerstars, Apple holds an annual WWDC Developer Conference to present its Design Awards. The company took advantage of the event to reward the eight best developers of mobile applications and games designed for its platforms. Here are the four mobile games awarded by the company in June this year:

    • Sayonara wild hearts (IPHONE, IPAD, IPOD TOUCH, APPLE TV AND OTHER CONSOLES)

One of the most outstanding games of 2019. The title, published by Annapurna, has won multiple awards around the world for its visual quality, unique pop ambience and high-flying music playlist. Sayonara Wild Hearts is a rhythm and reflex game in which you play as a young woman with a broken heart who becomes a biker and sets off in pursuit of heart pieces to bring the universe back into balance.

    • SKY: Children of the light (IPHONE, IPAD, IPOD TOUCH)

Another game with a strong visual identity. Sky is a social adventure, through a world to be explored alone or with friends. You must spread hope to bring the fallen stars back to their constellation by socializing with players from all over the world, teaming up, etc.

    • Song of bloom (IPHONE, IPAD, IPOD TOUCH)

A puzzle game through a story that evolves as you progress. Song of Bloom focuses on innovative design and experience. You have to solve puzzles in the order you want and in changing styles.

    • Where cards fall (IPHONE, IPAD, APPLE TV)

Another puzzle game to test your imagination and your sense of thought and strategy. In this story without dialogue, you have to immerse yourself in the musical atmosphere and the 3D artistic style. You build castles of cards to bring memories back to life in the form of puzzles.
